The Recovery Program
Sacred Circle Family Recovery Mission Statement:
With experience and hope, we support the long-term recovery from the effects of substance abuse.
With information, resources and encouragement, we support the recovering individual, and their family, to live in a healthy and honorable way.
In this way, we all benefit….
The Sacred Circle Family Recovery (SCFR) Project - Recovery Coach Program at White Earth is the first of its kind on a MN reservation. Our purpose is to help people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and, hopefully, reduce the likelihood of relapse. The Recovery Coach program is designed and delivered by peers and allies who have been successful in the recovery process.
Our core mission is to encourage and support long term recovery from substance abuse. Our primary focus is on the White Earth member and others living on or near the White Earth Reservation. We include the family wherever possible as we know this is a family disease. We make weekly telephone calls, meet person-to-person in our office or off-site, set goals, search for resources, offer incentives and encouragement as the recoveree makes their way in a life without substance abuse. There are many avenues to recovery so we advocate for the recoveree to voice what they need and want for their life. It is not our job to do this life work for them.
The SCFR Recovery Coach program is a volunteer-based program with two paid staff. Available volunteer opportunities are: Recovery Coach, Telephone Recovery Support, activity planning, public speaking, office work, etc. See boxes below.
Our mentor, the Southern Minnesota Recovery Connection provides the intensive Recovery Coach training. White Earth has a resource room for volunteers equipped with a computer, printer, written materials, and telephone. Our goal is to build a crew of Recovery coaches and telephone support persons to serve the recoveree who wants some added support in their new way of living. Please note that a background check is required for certain positions.

Transportation
Transportation is provided to clients entering inpatient and leaving treatment (upon completion of the program). Clients who leave a program prior to completion must find their own transportation home. Transportation is also provided to clients in our Adolescent Outpatient Program.
Prevention Program
Our prevention program performs community and school education on the dangers of drugs and alcohol with the aide of visual presentations, hands on exhibits and health fair booths on the various forms of substance abuse. They also provide information on how to contact our program for necessary services.
Funding
Funding eligibility must be determined at time of assessment, prior to placement.
Our main source of funding is the Minnesota Health Care Plans and the state of Minnesota Consolidated Chemical Dependency Treatment Fund (CCDTF). The CCDTF provides funding for enrolled members or descendants living on the White Earth Reservation who fall into the income guidelines. Non-native clients within the White Earth Reservation boundaries are also served based on Minnesota assessment guidelines.
White Earth Substance Abuse Program has the right to refuse services at any time during an assessment. If needed, you may be asked to leave or reschedule.
