Our mission is to provide leadership in the creation and implementation of quality services and programs for children and thier families to maximize their potential as productive and contributing members of society. While ensuring that every child is treatedwith kindness, respect and comfort and is encouraged to acquire developmental skills in a nurturing environment facilitated by Head Start staff.

The White Earth Head Programs strive to provide the best quality of comprehensive services to children, pregnant women, and families of early childhood aged children. We provide activities, interaction and interventions that assist children to develop and grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically in nurturing, supportive environments.

Program Options
Classroom/Center Based
This option is available to children ages 3-5 years old. Students are transported to one of the six centers near where they reside. Each classroom is staffed with a lead teacher, an assistant teacher and a family service advocate to assist families with various needs. This option is for full days Monday- Thursday from September through May. Centers are based in the communities of Pine Point, Naytahwaush, White Earth/Callaway, Waubun/Ogema, Rice Lake and Mahnomen.
Home Based and Early Head Start
This option is available for prenatal parents and children ages birth to five. Services are available in all areas of the White Earth Reservation with a home visitor providing a weekly visit and 2 monthly group socializations. This option is available September through May for ages 3-5, and year round for prenatal to 3 year old children.
The White Earth Head Start Program serves all families (Native American and non Native American) residing on the White Earth Reservation. Families over our income guidelines accepted when applicable. Preference is given to:
- Low income families
- White Earth enrolled members
- White Earth descendants
- Other Native American tribes
- Children with disabilities and other special needs
